SKEPTICS WELCOMED
We recognize that belief is hard and that it is worth acknowledging and wrestling with the questions, doubts, objections and skepticism around the Christian faith. We welcome both believers and skeptics to process their doubts and beliefs with the recognition that it is not sufficient to hold doubts or beliefs just because we inherited them. If you are interested in processing your doubts and beliefs or exploring Christianity, we welcome you to visit us on Sundays.
Our Beliefs
That there is ONE LIVING AND TRUE GOD, eternally existing in three persons the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – equal in power and glory, and that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.
That the SCRIPTURES of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired, and authoritative, showing us how to be the Church and how to live out our lives. The prominence of God’s Word over our lives shapes our priorities, and the unrivaled authority of the Bible directs our actions to be in concert with Christ’s very best for our lives.
In GOD THE FATHER, an infinite, personal God, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
In JESUS CHRIST, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth. We believe that, in His first coming, Jesus inaugurated the fulfillment of the Kingdom of God.
In the HOLY SPIRIT, Who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide and is with us on this journey of faith.
In the universal CHURCH, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. Also; that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ORDINANCES to the Church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe in water baptism and communion open to all believers. We believe there’s a Church because God has a Mission, and the church exists to fulfill that Mission.
We believe in living out the whole of the Great Commission – including evangelism, spiritual formation, compassion, and redemptive justice – in our communities and around the world.
We believe in purposeful assimilation of all age groups into the life and mission of the church, cultivating a strong vibrant multiethnic family of Christ-followers. We believe Biblical Christian marriage is God’s ideal for a flourishing family.
